Being a biostatistician in a contract research organisation in the area of clinical trials for more than 30 years, the emphasis within the last 6 years before pj statistics was on early phase clinical trials ("first in man" to "proof of concept", pharmacokinetic/-dynamic and bioequivalence studies). During my time in Marburg, Germany, at "Behringwerke" (Chiron Vaccines, nowadays Novartis Influenza Vaccines resp. GlaxoSmithKline) from 2002 to 2004 I could also gain experiences as an industry biostatistician in the field of vaccine trials. Other core areas are in CNS (polysomnography), urology, oncology, immunology as well as non-interventional studies, medical devices and dietary supplements.
Close contacts to universities, mainly the Beuth University of Applied Science, Berlin, and the Free University, Berlin, won among others by presenting seminars and lectures, resulted already earlier in involvements as a consultant or supervisor for statistics in academic thesis or papers.
